Who we are

East Medway u3a is an active and lively organisation for those who are no longer working full-time. It is run by a committee elected by its members and is part of a wider national network of u3as, whose motto is ‘Learn, Laugh, Live’. The UK's u3as (formerly known as the "university of the 3rd age") are split between 12 geographical areas. East Medway u3a is part of Kent Region.

What we offer

We run a main monthly meeting with a speaker at St Paul's Church, Parkwood Green and about 25 interest groups, which offer members an opportunity to learn or improve a wide range of skills in a relaxed, social environment - our Groups page has full details. If you would like to meet others and perhaps develop old or new interests, East Medway u3a provides a friendly welcome to all. We also offer a monthly newsletter
that includes information about our groups and much more. Membership costs £20 per annum. Please see our Membership information for how to join.

Third Age Trust

The Third Age Trust (TAT) supports over 1000 local u3as across the UK who, between them, have more than 430,000 members. TAT offers Online Learning Events, free to all u3a members, including podcasts, workshops and courses. All members may also take part, free of charge, in various projects, initiatives and competitions. Finally, TAT also runs 'Interest Groups Online' (IGO), a digital branch of the u3a. Membership of IGO costs £12 per annum.
