You are very welcome to join us. As a member of East Medway u3a you will enjoy the full benefits of participation in our groups, attendance at our meetings (free tea or coffee), voting rights and receipt of our monthly newsletter. To join, please follow one of the options below:

Option 1 – print our membership form, complete it, and contact the Membership Secretary by clicking on the relevant link. The Membership Secretary will supply contact details to allow payment by cheque or cash. Alternatively, you may pay by bank transfer using the BACS system, details of which are given on the membership form.

Option 2 – come to a monthly meeting, when you may complete a form and make a payment by cheque or cash. If you prefer to pay using BACS, please do so before submitting your form. See our Events page for details of meetings.

Our annual membership costs £20 for 2026/7, however, those joining later in the year will receive a discount as follows:

October to December fee is £15.

January to March fee is £10.

If you are already a member of another u3a group, the fee for Associate Membership of East Medway u3a is £16

There is a “try before you buy” option of attending meetings as a guest for £3 per meeting, which is refundable if you join at the meeting, and some of our groups do allow up to two taster sessions (those in larger public locations). 

Groups may charge for any consumables, or you may need to purchase items to support the activity e.g. materials to use for a project.

Other benefits provided by the Third Age Trust can be accessed via the u3a page. These include online webinars, shopping discounts (u3a Friends), and access to events and online groups (additional fees apply to online groups).

 The membership fee includes £4 contribution to the Third Age Trust and includes insurance for our activities, access to free online webinars and a professional team which advises your committee.  

Existing Members – we hope that you are getting the most out of your membership. Please look at u3a Friends on the u3a page for shopping discounts.
